Dr. P. Keith Thompson, MD, has practiced cataract surgery and general ophthalmology in Florence since 2007. Raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, he attended college at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. After eight years as a United States Army platoon leader, staff officer, helicopter test pilot, and paratrooper, Dr. Thompson attended medical school at the University of Arkansas (UAMS). He then completed an internship in general surgery at UAMS and his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas in Galveston.
Dr. Thompson's interests are church, family, classic cars & hot rods, all forms of auto racing, surfing, and big-band music. His radio is stays tuned to either the Frank Sinatra satellite radio and local Shoals gospel & oldies station WBTG.
