Johnnie Barnes, OD

Johnnie Barnes, OD, is a comprehensive optometrist in Florence, AL at Florence Ophthalmology. Dr. Barnes grew up in Indiana and in high school, he was awarded The American Legion School Award and graduated with honors. He was offered a full academic scholarship to Indiana University and was accepted early to Indiana University School of Optometry. He graduated in 1982.

Dr. Barnes accepted a position with EyeCare Partners in 2018. He saw patients in Huntsville and Arab before transferring to Florence Ophthalmology in 2021, where he is currently accepting new patients for eye care in Florence, AL.

Dr. Barnes and his wife live on the Tennessee River with a menagerie of rescue dogs and cats. He is a pilot, an excellent marksman, and enjoys woodworking, leathercraft, photography, and cruising the river. He has two daughters and now, seven grandchildren, who he loves teaching how to fish, camp, and enjoy the river.
